Victor Blanco to join Scientific Games in 2022

Scientific Games Corporation has announced Victor Blanco will join the company as chief technology officer in 2022. Blanco will ensure the company’s technology strategy supports the gaming, lottery, sports betting and igaming ventures, support that will extend to the development and execution of the company’s games.

Blanco has experience in the gaming industry, working with cloud, automation and embedded systems technologies. He served as the director of software architecture for HTC and held multiple software engineering roles at Microsoft where he worked on the first Xbox console.

Blanco’s most recent role was chief technology officer at Aristocrat, where he led technology strategy and helped build the technologies and teams that successfully contributed to Aristocrat’s land-based gaming business. He was also in charge of the company’s expansion into social casino and casual games.

Despite the pandemic, Scientific Games reported revenue of $762m for 2020, with a net loss of $37m. While gaming revenue fell by 36% year-on-year to $286m, SciPlay saw its revenue increase by 30% to $147m, and digital revenue was $73m, a 1% growth.
